When first picked, McIntosh apples have a strong sweet-tart flavour that mellows slightly the longer it is stored in the fridge. McIntosh apples break down quite easily, making them best eaten fresh or used to make applesauce, juicing or turning into cider. Locally sourced from Norfolk Fruit Growers in Simcoe, ON.
